Privacy Policy
Last updated October 18, 2026. Plain-language summary first.
The short version
- No accounts, no emails, no X sign-in. We never ask for your name.
- We store wallet addresses, on-chain activity, post text, launch drafts, and public X profile data for launched handles.
- Our servers log IP addresses and browser info for security and rate limiting.
- Your browser keeps your preferences and wallet session in local storage.
- Anything on the blockchain or IPFS is public and permanent. We can hide text on Burnbook, but we can't erase it from there.
- We don't sell your data or use advertising trackers.
This summary helps you read the full text below; the full text is what applies. See also our Terms of Service.
1.Scope
This policy explains how Burnbook (also called burnbookdotfun), at burnbook.fun, handles information when you use the website, its APIs and share cards (the "Service"). "We" means the operators of Burnbook. It should be read with our Terms of Service.
2.What we collect
Things you provide or create
- Wallet addresses you connect, and the transactions you sign through the Service.
- Post text and tags, and the coin description and ticker you write when launching. Text is stored on our servers; a hash of each post goes on-chain.
- Drafts: post and launch text sent to our servers just before you sign, so it can be matched to the transaction. Drafts that never get confirmed are deleted.
- Claim codes bound to a wallet and handle, and the tweet URL you submit to prove you own a handle.
Public data we gather
- On-chain activity: launches, trades, burns, boosts, payouts and balances for burnbook coins, read from the Solana blockchain.
- Public X profile data for handles that are searched, launched or claimed: user ID, handle, display name, bio, avatar, banner and follower count, and the text of tweets submitted for claims. We get this from third-party providers, not from the X API, and never sign you in to X.
Collected automatically
- IP address and user agent, in server and hosting logs and for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Local storage in your browser for preferences (such as slippage) and your wallet session. It stays on your device; clear it any time in your browser settings.
We don't create accounts and don't collect names, emails, phone numbers or government IDs. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
3.Why we use it
- to run the Service: show coins, posts, charts, leaderboards and wallet pages;
- to build and verify transactions, attest launches and verify handle claims;
- to calculate and publish leaderboard payout snapshots;
- to keep the Service secure and available: rate limiting, preventing abuse, debugging;
- to act on hide and takedown requests and to meet legal obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing the Service you ask for, our legitimate interest in running and protecting it, and legal obligations.
4.Third parties
We share data with service providers only as needed to run the Service. They process it under their own policies:
- Solana RPC and indexing providers (such as Helius), which see the transactions and addresses we query or send.
- IPFS pinning (such as Pinata, or pump.fun's uploader), which stores coin metadata: name, ticker, image and description.
- Wallet connection (Reown/WalletConnect), which relays requests between this site and your wallet.
- X data providers (such as FxTwitter and unavatar.io), which we query for public profile and tweet data.
- Hosting and database providers, which store our servers' data and logs.
We don't sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the Service and its users.
5.Public and permanent data
Blockchains are public. Your wallet address, balances and every transaction (including the hash and tag of each post) are visible to anyone, forever, and can be linked to you if your wallet is linked to you anywhere else. Coin metadata on IPFS, including the description, is also public and can't be unpinned. Post text you publish is public on Burnbook, its share cards and its APIs.
6.Retention
- Post text, descriptions and on-chain records are kept for as long as the Service runs, because they are the Service.
- Unconfirmed drafts and claim codes are deleted after they expire.
- Cached X profile data is refreshed periodically and replaced when it changes.
- Server logs and rate-limit records are kept for a short period, then deleted.
7.Hiding and takedowns
When a handle owner hides a post or description, or we take text down, the text is removed from Burnbook's pages, share cards and public APIs. Hidden text may stay in our database so an owner can unhide it; taken-down text is removed. Neither affects on-chain or IPFS data, or copies others have already made.
8.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of personal data we hold, or to complain to a data-protection authority. Because we have no accounts, tell us the wallet address or post concerned and we may ask you to sign a message to prove control of the wallet. We can't change or delete blockchain or IPFS data. To make a request, email [email protected]placeholder.
9.Children
The Service is for adults (18+). We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the Service or is the subject of content on it, contact us and we will act on it.
10.Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the data we hold, but no system is perfectly secure. We never have access to your private keys; never share your recovery phrase with anyone, including people claiming to be us.
11.Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and material changes will be announced on the Service.
